Those damn lucky Russians got a new trailer for Marvel‘s The Avengers today, courtesy of MSN Russia. It’s the same trailer as the U.S. version, only with a few more clips. I don’t get the concept of revealing new clips in the same trailer in a foreign market. Is it meant to tease the English-speaking population? No offense to the Russkies, even if they got their asses handed to them by the Wolverines, but still…it’s a bit perplexing.
The Russian trailer has a few notable clips we haven’t seen, including a brief dialogue scene between Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) and Dr. Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo), which is in Russian, so have fun with that, a shot of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) smashing a cab with his hammer, and two new shots of Captain America (Chris Evans); a shot of him leaping out of an airplane and another shot of him standing in an alleyway throwing his shield at us. Check it out below.
It’s not a lot, but at least there are some cool action shots thrown in there and not a slew of Russian dialogue sequences. It does seem rather humorous in Russian, though, almost like a cold war propaganda film. Definitely worth a look, however, as we draw closer and closer to the film’s release, which is only about four months away (!)
Marvel’s The Avengers will begin blowing up cars, streets, each other, skrulls (?), and probably the box office on May 4, 2012 in both 2D and 3D.
